None of us here at Jim Dandy woke up one day and said, "I'd like to work at a convenience store." I know I sure didn't! So, now you are probably wondering..." then what is his story?" or "how'd he end up making a career in this industry?" The answer, my friend, is simple...family. Now, what you must understand is that yes by family I do mean my father and grandfather before me. However, more importantly, I truly am here today because of the families who choose to work with and alongside me and most of all, for the countless families we serve together daily.

I have been blessed in so many ways throughout my life. I was born in Carteret County, as were generations of my family long before me. Coastal North Carolina is sacred to me. I pray that through our efforts and the efforts of all our local families that countless others might also have a chance to appreciate how fortunate we are to be able to call this "our home."

J.M. Davis, Sr. founded J.M. Davis Industries, Inc in 1939 as a distributor of Texaco products to service stations and consumers. In 1977, James Davis, Jr. expanded the business into the convenience store industry. Throughout the history of our company, some of our milestones include being the first company in Eastern North Carolina to add non-Ethanol gasoline to the recreational market, developed and was first to use the buying group concept for convenience stores, voted Convenience Store of the Year, and one of our managers was voted Convenience Store Manager of the Year for North Carolina. We continue to grow within the ever-changing convenience store industry, while staying strong to our roots.

While I am proud to serve as the third generation to operate our family business, the greatest reward for me is ensuring that families who work with us, as well as those that depend on us for goods and services, are all provided for each day to the highest extent we are capable. Personally, I've never seen my role here as anything more than someone who provides solutions for other's needs. I choose to work here because of the overwhelming opportunities I create to help others!
